Brötchen, (pronounced "BRERT-khen") is located on the Ithaca Commons, the heart of the city of Ithaca. Inspired by the Viennese Kaffeehaus, the European-style coffee house serves authentic Austrian and German food such as daily lunch specials, baked goods and pastries along with a variety of delicious coffees and teas.

Owner Michael Horzing grew up in Austria where he formed his love for good food and great cooking. He began his formal training in Vienna, Austria and continued on in Rome, Italy. Many people have said that Brötchen has filled a widely welcomed position as a unique addition on The Commons.
